Two elements are therefore required to access Microsoft 365 services: entering your username and password and validating using a mobile device.
Multi-factor authentication is mandatory for all users of the Cégep’s computer systems.
How the connection works
When you sign in to your Microsoft 365 account, your identity is validated with a second step on your mobile using the Microsoft Authenticator mobile app. You only need to approve the connection if you initiated it.

Google
Two-factor authentication (MFA) is required when you log to your CEGEP Google account.
Here are some examples of best practices to adopt in terms of cybersecurity on all your devices, for both personal and professional use:
- Use a password that is hard to guess and do not tell other people.
- Uses two-factor authentication.
- If you receive a strange email with a suspicious attachment, do not open it.
- Remains critical and vigilant regarding emails and texts from strangers.
