Antidote

Antidote is a valuable tool that will serve you during your studies at Cégep, but also when you are at university or in the job market. For this reason, the Cégep strongly recommends that you acquire a personal Antidote license, which will be useful beyond your college studies.

At the Cégep, some teaching staff members may require that assignments be corrected in Antidote before being submitted, as part of general or specific education classes. This software may also be required as mandatory material in a class. In this case, this information is mentioned in the lesson plan.

To facilitate access to this tool, the Cégep has implemented various solutions.

Computer stations equipped with Antidote software are available on campus during opening hours.

If you are experiencing financial difficulties that prevent you from purchasing the Antidote software, you may be able to obtain the loan of an Antidote Web license for the semester or school year.

Are you receiving adapted services? The Cégep can provide you with an Antidote license if this accommodation is included in your intervention plan and you do not already have a personal software license. To benefit from this accommodation, contact the Special Needs Educator on your campus.

  • Antidote is a high-performance Quebec proofreading software that is increasingly recognized and used in academic and professional environments.
  • It is intended for writers of all levels of language skills, and it can be configured to take into account their profile.
  • Proofreading support tools not only allow you to identify and correct your errors but also to improve and develop your writing autonomy with tooltips leading to required explanations.
  • At the same time, it offers methods of enriching style and vocabulary as well as prisms that promote the adaptation of its text to the communication situation and the type of disciplinary writing.
  • It includes a wide range of dictionaries and language guides, accessible directly from the text interface, and refers to complementary online tools.
  • Its positive effects are maximized by appropriate use, which is why the Cégep offers both students and staff various opportunities to introduce them to its functions: checklists, revision and correction methods, demonstrations, coaching, etc.
  • It makes the writing, editing, and correction steps less tedious in the eyes of the student community. So, the important learning it allows is transferable to all courses and contributes to obtaining better results in the linguistic evaluation criterion.
  • Its effective use allows to hand over more careful work to the teaching staff. The language evaluation is done in all courses, and the use of Antidote can prevent the loss of points.
