Sexual violence

The Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles aims to offer you a healthy and safe living environment as well as information, support, and guidance services. In particular, it has adopted a policy aimed at preventing and combating sexual violence, which you can consult on the Official Documents and Calendars page of the cegepgim.ca.

Disclosing or reporting abuse

Single Entry Point

The Single Entry Point is a reception, listening and support device for students who wish to disclose a situation of sexual violence.

  • Have you been a victim of sexual violence in one form or another?
  • Have you witnessed sexual violence?
  • Do you want to support a victim or witness in your entourage?
  • Do you have questions about the subject or about certain behaviors?
  • Have you yourself subjected someone to sexual violence?
  • Are you wondering if it’s okay to have an intimate relationship with a staff member?
  • Do you know that services exist at CEGEP and in the community?

Contact a one-shop stop resource. You can do this by phone, e-mail, MIO or in person in complete confidentiality. The Single Entry Point will support you, offering you tools or specialized support resources or implementing solutions tailored to your needs. The process is simple, quick and efficient, while respecting each other’s paceThe report or disclosure does not need to be recent or have taken place at the CEGEP to benefit from the services of the different resources.

Are you looking for more information or just not ready to confide? Consult the tools available on this page.

Mandatory training

At the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles, the establishment of a culture of respect and non-violence is essential. This is why we invite you to watch the training on consent and sexual violence as soon as possible. As provided for by provincial law, each student must take such training at least once during his or her college career. You will find the contact information for the various support services (sexual assault [CAVACS]help centres, Tel-Jeunes).
