RIASQ Intercollegiate Activities
The Cégep is a member of the Réseau intercollégial des activités socioculturelles du Québec (RIASQ). Visit the Our Events section of the RIASQ website to find out what you can get involved in. Many of these activities are held on our campuses.
Cégeps en spectacle
The largest French-language performing arts competition in Quebec colleges. Show up for a local edition to access the regional and national finals.
Intercollegiate Poetry Collection
This contest allows three people from the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles to be published in the Recueil intercollégial de poésie, which brings together the creations of students from across the province every year.
College Students' Literary Prize
This literary prize is awarded each year by a jury made up of students from the various colleges and Cégeps in Quebec. During group discussions, the jurors debate the qualities and merits of the novels before making their choice and awarding the prize to a Quebec author. Other intercollegiate activities
Intercollegiate Writing Marathon
Twenty-four hours of creative writing! This marathon alternates between periods of free writing and creative workshops led by writers from Quebec. The text that wins the first prize is published in the newspaper Le Devoir. For more information: jecris.org.
College Award for Quebec Cinema
The Prix collégial du cinéma québécois offers groups of college-trained students the opportunity to watch five Quebec films released in the past year and chosen by a knowledgeable committee. At the end of the process, the groups must select three films. A representative from each Cégep is then invited to participate in provincial deliberations in Montreal to select the winning film. Science, we're filming!
This competition consists of taking up a scientific and technical challenge, wacky in appearance, but in reality very complex, concrete, and highly educational. Talk to your science teachers or the Student Life Resource to participate in the local final. For more information: scienceontourne.com.
Intercollegiate Philosophy
For a weekend, students from all over Quebec gather at the Cégep de Valleyfield to philosophize on a particular theme. Talk to your philosophy teachers or the person in charge of student life to find out how to participate.

The region has several cultural infrastructures: performance halls, theatres, and museums. Check out the websites of the municipalities or Culture Gaspésie to find out about them and take advantage of the discounts offered to students!
