The Cornélius-Brotherton foundation rewards young gaspesians and madelinots who decided to pursue their studies in their region

For a 15th consecutive year, the foundation of the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles is proud to distribute $6,000 in scholarships to 11 students newly admitted to one of the programs offered at the institution’s 4 campuses. These entrance scholarships are divided into 3 sections.

The “Welcome” section is exclusively for graduates from high schools and adult education centers located in the Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine administrative region and the graduates from high schools within the Eastern Shores School Board. A $500 scholarship is awarded by random draw to a student from each of these schools or centers; this year, not all are represented due to a lack of applications. The winners are:

About the Cornelius-Brotherton Foundation

In addition to promoting education in general and particularly in the region, all the actions of the Cornelius-Brotherton Foundation aim to facilitate access to post-secondary education for Gaspesians and Medelinots. The Foundation organizes benefit activities to raise funds to finance its projects. The revenues from these activities are redistributed in the form of scholarships for students and financial support for projects related to the development of programs of study and/or the revitalization of student life on the 4 campuses of the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles: Gaspé, the Magdalen Islands, Carleton-sur-Mer and the École des pêches et de l’aquaculture du Québec in Grande-Rivière.
