Important information

As the Fall 2024 school year approaches, we are sharing important information with you to better prepare you for the start of the next session.

We want to stay in touch!

We`ll be using the MIO messaging system as well as an Omnivox community (see step 2).

Information to come

  • Step 1. Transition (high-school-college)

    For new students

This section presents various tools to help you prepare for your transition to college.  Taking the time to consult them will allow you to learn more about this new environment.

To learn more about the services offered, the support measures for success and college studies, the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles has gathered a lot of information and resources in this interactive presentation.

Do your parents have questions? Infoparents is available for parents who wish to learn more about the college environment. This document presents the main differences between high school and college, the roles of each, the services offered at Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles and much more.

Step 2. Set up your Omnivox access (to be done as soon as possible)

Your time as a student at the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles has begun and you will have access to academic organisation services via OMNIVOX. You will be able to confirm your choice of courses, consult your balance and retrieve your schedule.

    • On the gateway page, you can choose English or French -> top right.
    • Follow the instructions on the screen. Take note of your password as it will be used throughout your time at the College.
    • If you have any difficulty with your student number, call 418-368-2201 (or toll-free 1888-368-2201), ext. 1420 or e-mail kpatterson@cegepgim.ca.
Step 3- Course selection for the Fall 2024 session

If necessary, contact your individual academic advisor for any information relating to your choice of course of program of study.

Your schedule will be available in August for the Fall semester and in January for the winter semester, approximately one week before the start of the school year.

    Step 4: Session fees

You will receive an email and a MIO at the mid-May notifying you that the invoice for your session fees is available.  You can consult and pay it in Omnivox in the Payment Center module.
