    • Means tornadoes, high winds, severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, hailstorms, or windstorms (over 100 km/h), snow (35 cm or more) and freezing rain;
    • Is covered by a weather report broadcast in the media.
    During severe weather
    • Stay calm;
    • Close all windows and doors;
    • Take shelter and wait out the storm;
    • Postpone outdoor activities;
    • In the event of a tornado, stay away from windows.
    During a snowstorm
    • The Cégep is always open;
    • School management may suspend, in whole or in part, classes and regular activities;
    • In the event of a total or partial suspension of classes and regular activities, members of the Cégep’s administrative staff must report to work in person or via telework or take a day off in agreement with their immediate supervisor. For faculty and students, the return to classes will be announced in the following days;
    • In exceptional circumstances, school management may close the Cégep. This would mean that staff would not have to report for work and would not suffer any reduction pay cut.

    Follow instructions emailed to staff and posted on the Omnivox portal, as well as on the Cégep’s website and Facebook page.

    Guidelines

    When closing the Cégep, it is important to:

    • Ration all essential goods, such as food, immediately;
    • Plan for the possible absence of several staff members;
    • Consider placing the premises under lockdown.

     These are minimum measures to mitigate the impact of isolation on the facility.
