The maximum number of participants for the Exploratory Stay has been reached, so it is no longer possible to apply for the 2025 edition. If you would like to meet with a department and visit our CEGEP to confirm your choice of program and institution for next year, we invite you to register for the Student for a Day option. We look forward to welcoming you to this similar event.

What is Scout It Out?

If you live in a region other than Gaspésie and Magdalen Islands and are eligible to attend college next fall, this activity is for you. Scout it out aims to make you discover the Gaspé campus. This will allow you to validate your choice of program of study. 

Activity Schedule 

On November 20th, a bus chartered by the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles will leave from Montréal and make stops along the way to take you to Gaspé.  Depending on registrations, it will stop at the following locations: Drummondville, Lévis, La Pocatière, Rivière-du-Loup, Rimouski and Matane. Upon arrival in Gaspé, meals and accommodation will be provided.  

 

On November 21st, you will have the opportunity to attend a class in the program of your choice and meet the faculty and student community. In addition to visiting the establishment, you will participate in an afternoon outdoor activity that will allow you to become familiar with the area.  

 

On November 22nd, it is the bus ride back to your region.

Costs

Each person must pay the $75 fee for their registration to be considered complete. These fees include transportation by chartered bus from Montreal (or from the chosen stop) to the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles as well as meals, lodging (possible dormitories) and activities on site. Participants are responsible for providing their own meals during bus transportation (lunch or fast food money).

How to Register

Applications for the 2025 edition are now closed. If you would like to pay us a visit to confirm your choice of program and CEGEP, we invite you to register for the Student for a Day option.

Prepare your Departure

In anticipation of your visit, please bring notably: 

  • Your meal and snacks or money to buy your meal during the bus transportation on November 20 and 22. 
  • Walking boots or sneakers; 
  • Warm clothing for outdoor activities; 
  • A toque; 
  • Mittens; 
  • A scarf; 
  • A reusable water bottle. 

 

Please note that all the items required for the night will be provided (bedding, pillow, etc.).
