The Hewitt Foundation donates $25,000 to bolster the Fondation du Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles scholarships

The Hewitt Foundation is pleased to announce a $25,000 donation to the Fondation du Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles. Thanks to this new partnership, the Cégep’s scholarship and financial support program will be enhanced for the 2024-2025 academic year. 

 

With a focus on health and education, the Hewitt Foundation is actively involved in creating meaningful and lasting change that improves the lives of all Canadians. Sylvain Vachon, President of the Fondation du Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles, made no secret of his joy: “This support for the scholarship program will make a difference in the daily lives of many students. We sincerely thank the Hewitt Foundation for this generous gesture.” 

 

With the help of this donation, the Cégep’s Foundation will award the following new scholarships: 

  • 5 entrance scholarships of $500, exclusively for those newly enrolled in vocational training (DEP) at the École des pêches et de l’aquaculture du Québec (ÉPAQ); 
  • 15 scholarships of $500 to encourage French or English immersion; 
  • 10 scholarships of $250 to recognize the dedication of students enrolled in a DEP or DEC program at the ÉPAQ. 

 

The Hewitt Foundation’s contribution adds to the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles Foundation’s scholarship program, which totals $41,500 in different scholarships awarded annually.
