Interest call for entrance scholarships from the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles

For the 16th consecutive year, the Cornelius-Brotherton Foundation of the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles is proud to announce its entrance scholarships to congratulate new students who have been admitted to one of the programs offered at the institution’s four campuses.

Now is the time to apply for the entrance scholarships, which are divided into three components:

The “Welcome” scholarship is aimed exclusively at graduates of high schools and adult education centers of the Gaspé peninsula and the Magdalen Islands, as well as schools of the Eastern Shores School Board. A $500 scholarship is drawn among students from eligible schools.

The “Immersion” scholarship is intended for students who undertake their college training in total or partial immersion in English or French at the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles, while their language of study in high school was different. The scholarship program encourages the acquisition of a second language. The list of eligible students is sent to the Foundation by the Cégep. No application form is required.

The “Leadership” scholarship is designed to recognize a student’s outstanding extracurricular or community involvement. A $500 scholarship will be awarded from among the applications received.

Students must have been accepted into a full-time study program leading to a college diploma at one of the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles campuses, in the first round of the SRACQ, the regional college admission service of Quebec (application for admission sent before March 1, 2023). The deadline to submit an application in one of the three categories is July 1, 2023.
