Édith Tanguay wins the local final of Cégeps en spectacle at the Gaspé campus

Édith Tanguay wins the local final of Cégeps en spectacle from the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles at the Gaspé campus. She will represent the campus with a musical performance in the creation category during the regional final in the Îles-de-la-Madeleine on March 18.

Student Édith Tanguay impressed the judges and the 130 people in the audience at the café Oscar on the Gaspé campus. She also receives a $300 scholarship from the Caisse Desjardins de la Pointe de la Gaspésie.

Following the show, the public voted for the Coup de coeur award. Tied, the performance of Édith Tanguay and the music group Allégorie, made up of Alicia Roy, Jasmine Garnier, Lily-Rose Blanchette, Lily-Raphaelle Savaga and Ïara Lacassa, win a $200 prize awarded by the General Association of Students and students from the Gaspé campus.

The Musique du Bout du Monde prize, along with a $250 grant, was awarded to the group Allégorie, which will perform an emerging performance at the next FMBM. The Le Griffon Cultural Center prize was awarded to Lily-Mei Fournier. This award gives him the chance to open for one of the shows presented by the Center next spring.

The other performances led by Louis-Francis Cyr, Émie Daraiche, Mahéva Paquette-Shaw, Ïara Lacasse, Alicia Roy and Romain Lajoye demonstrated that the creativity and audacity of the artists who engage in the Cégeps en spectacle adventure make difficult to choose the jury. The latter, composed of Émile Cayouette, Maxime Caron, Charles-André Ouimette, Pascale Rémillard and Bianka Lévesque, praised the quality of the performances offered.

Thanks to the guest artist Char, accompanied by Loïc Bruyère. Congratulations to the animation duo of high school students composed of Myriam Pelletier and Ezekyel Bergeron.

The Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles congratulates the participants and encourages its students to pursue their passion during their studies.

Thank you to the local partners for their financial support: the City of Gaspé, Caisse Desjardins de la Pointe de la Gaspésie, Musique du Bout du Monde, municipal councilors Ghislain Smith, Réal Côté and James Keays, the student association of the Gaspé campus (AGECGI) and the Le Griffon cultural centre.
