Appointment of Mr. Serge Rochon as Director of Studies at Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles

The Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Serge Rochon as Director of Studies. He will take office on January 23, 2023, in Gaspé. With nearly 17 years of experience at CEGEP, Mr. Rochon has strong teaching and management skills.

Starting out as a teacher from 2006, he later became a pedagogical adviser, then director of the Îles-de-la-Madeleine campus in 2012. in 2019. Mr. Rochon is recognized for his communication, mobilization and listening skills. The human dimension and academic success are at the heart of his vision as a manager. “What motivates me in the first place is the success of our student community. The quality of our teaching is, and must remain, the strength of our CEGEP,” he explains. Honest and visionary, Mr. Rochon relies on participative leadership.

A bachelor in political science and holder of a certificate in communication from the University of Montreal, he also holds a graduate degree in regional public administration offered by the University of Quebec in Rimouski and the National School of Public Administration. Several years of experience in the fields of communications and politics also enrich his track record.

Mr. Rochon’s professional background, his attachment to the establishment as well as his knowledge of the college environment are all assets that will enable him to assume his new responsibilities with brilliance. The CEGEP management team wishes him the best of success!

As for the management position of the Îles-de-la-Madeleine campus occupied by Mr. Rochon, a call for candidates will be announced next week.
