Bomb treat

Here are the safety instructions to follow in the event of a bomb threat.

If you receive a BOMB THREAT by phone:

  • Remain calm, stay on the line, and do not put the call on hold;
  • Do not interrupt the caller;
  • Try to get as much information as possible, for example, by asking questions about the exact location;
  • Take note of all the details (gender, age, voice type, accent, etc.);
  • Use miscommunication as an excuse to get the person to repeat themselves and keep them on the line;
  • Immediately notify the person in charge by calling:

  • If necessary, call 911.
  • Follow the instructions given to you by the person in charge or the police authorities.

If you receive a BOMB THREAT by email:

  • Do not delete the email;
  • Immediately notify the person in charge by calling:

    • Carleton-sur-Mer campus: 418 364-3341, extension 4444 
    • École des pêches et de l’aquaculture du Québec : 418 385-2241, extension 3333

  • If necessary, call 911;
  • Follow the instructions given to you by the person in charge or the police authorities.

 If you receive a BOMB THREAT in person:

  • Ask the person to repeat what he or she is saying, to check whether the threat is real;
  • Take note of all the details (gender, age, voice type, accent, etc.);
  • Move to a safe place and immediately notify the person in authority by calling:
