Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles anglophones students do well on the ministerial examination of College English

The 16 students enrolled in the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles English Sector took the Ministerial examination of college English last December and all of them passed the compulsory exam.

Of the students who took the test, three are enrolled in technology programs and thirteen – one of whom is from Reunion Island – in pre-university programs. Students taking the ministerial exam must read three texts, choose one and write a 750-word essay based on their chosen text. The exam is designed to assess their reading comprehension and insight, how well they organise their written response and their expression.

It is important to point out that students enrolled at English colleges must pass the ministerial examination of college English. To be eligible to take the exam they must first successfully complete three of the four compulsory English courses included in their college programs.
