Gaspé Campus honours its graduates at a gala evening
A Gala Evening was held on Friday, May 8 at the Gaspé Campus; it was a fine opportunity to reward students for their work, efforts and energy. During the evening 36 bursaries – worth a total of $12,200 – were presented to deserving students. The Campus also took the opportunity to congratulate all its graduates, presenting them with their diplomas as it does at every year’s commencement.
Lucie Fournier, a Natural Science student, earned particular distinction by winning the Governor General’s Academic Medal. The $500 bursary rewarding involvement in student life (Le Grand Largue) was presented to Ann-Sophie Boily. This bursary is given to students who earn distinction for their great intellectual vivacity, excellent academic performance, serious involvement in community, sports and cultural activities, ease in interpersonal relations, and achievement while at college. It’s important to point out that Ann-Sophie Boily was also won the Social Science bursary and the Philosophy bursary.
Immersion bursaries offered by the Cornélius Brotherton Foundation were presented to Jonathan Jean and Keven Bouchard. Nicolas Bernier won the Sports Distinction award and shared the Science and Technology Bursary with Olivier Jobin.
This evening was made possible thanks to the generosity of 33 sponsors from the community. The Gaspé Campus of the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles congratulates all its graduates for their success and wishes them the very best as they undertake their future projects.
